TRACE

09-2019

In reaction to the ubiquitous discussions about migration and the social stigma that it brings, this project addresses demographic shifts as an integral part of everyday life. Inspired by the abrasion of frequently travelled paths, I designed tiles made from layers of differently coloured concrete. Over time and according to its usage, the tiles would reveal their layers and colours. Installed in
a public space, they would be an ever-changing reminder of the marks we leave behind as a collective. By showing this daily migration,
I hope to make intercultural migration seem less alien.
