SENOS
09-2020
Exchange semester, university of art Burg Giebichenstein, play- and learning design.
An investigation of the healing effect of music therapy in elderly and nursing homes.
The objects series Senos seeks to support the audible stimulation of music through a tactile experience. Experiments with the transmission of vibrations led to a series of gravity pillows filled with mung beans and a Bluetooth speaker. When music is played, the speaker emits pulses to the surrounding material, which are then transmitted to the recipients’ body. With this tool, I hope to give music therapists the means to research the effects of hearing a familiar melody and receiving coherent tactile stimuli. Senos is currently being tested by a music therapist with whom I have been in contact throughout the process.
